Ben Davies letters to Oliver Lodge,

Xerox copies of ten letters from Ben Davies, A.M.I.E.E., F.Inst. P. (1863-1957), scientist, to Oliver Lodge, later Sir Oliver Lodge, reporting the results of experiments which he conducted with the ether machine which Sir Oliver had set up in the Physics laboratory at University College, Liverpool, 1893-1896, and of experiments concerning the discharge of electricity from various metals, [1894x1897]. The originals are held by the University of Liverpool Library, Lodge Papers, MS 3.16(6-8), 3.17(1-6), 3.19(3). See also the Ben Davies Papers purchased by the Library in 1981.

A xerox copy of Bangor MS 27414, being itself a xerox copy of a manuscript containing Welsh poetry in strict metre, in a hand dating from the 17th century; together with a copy of the donor's transcript of a letter, 1979, from John Trefor to Gruffydd Aled Williams concerning the background history of the original manuscript. [The manuscript was at the time in the possession of Gareth Hughes, Bromley, and originally, with NLW MS 728D and other folios now missing, formed one volume].

Photocopy of the autobiography of George W. Lloyd ('Georgie Brawd', 1860-c.1936), Aberdare, written late 1920s or early 1930s, extracts from which were published in the Aberdare Leader, 1932. It includes an account of his experiences in the navy and contains a description, c.1878, of the plight of the early Welsh settlers in Patagonia.
