Lord Aberdare letters to A. J. Mundella,

Xerox copies of six letters, 1882-1890, from [H. A. Bruce], Lord Aberdare, London and Mountain Ash, to A. J. Mundella, relating largely to higher education in Wales. The originals are in the University of Sheffield library.

Thomas family of Carmarthen and Iowa,

Copies of a small collection of genealogical material, including typewritten extracts (births 1797-1837) from the registers of the Tabernacle, formerly Dock Gate, Baptist Church, Carmarthen, for persons of the name of Thomas, and a copy of the death certificate of Thomas Thomas, Rhosuchen, Trelech, d. 1 June 1858. There is also a copy of an account, by Le Roy Owens, Cotter, Iowa, USA, dated 22 February 1978, of the family, lives and descendants of James and Anna Thomas, who emigrated to America in 1840, and a xerox copy, with typewritten transcript and notes by Le Roy Owens, of a letter, dated 16 March 1866, from Harriet Thomas, Dodgeville, Iowa, USA, to her sister Mary Jones.

Photographs, taken under an ultra-violet lamp, of Peniarth MS 540B, containing part of Bede's De natura rerum.

Joseph Parry's 'Blodwen',

Full score, for voices and orchestra, of the opera 'Blodwen' by Joseph Parry (words by [Richard Davies] 'Mynyddog'). The score was edited by Dulais Rhys of Bangor from the original manuscript, and the words were edited by Enid Parry. This version was prepared for a centenary performance of Blodwen held on 29 April 1978 during the Menai Music Festival.

The voyage of the brig Albion from Caernarfon to north America,

Photographic copies of nineteen pages of the personal journal of the late Dr Ll. Wyn Griffith for the year 1959, containing an abbreviated translation into English by Dr Griffith of the contents of a booklet (52 pp.) published by Peter Evans in Caernarfon in 1820 giving an account of the voyage of the brig Albion of Cardigan from Caernarfon to north America in 1818 carrying emigrants.

Melchior concerning the records at Siena relating to the conferring of the degree of MD on Sion Dafydd Rhys in 1567 with an offprint of the said article as published in Sudhoffs Archiv, Band 60, Heft 3 (1976); and draft typescripts of an article by Mr Melchior on Rhys's analysis of the articulation of vowels.

John Castell-Evans letters,

Xerox copies of eight letters, 1904-1908, by John Castell-Evans of London and Ilford, consisting of seven letters to his brother Evan James Evans, Llanfachreth, Merionethshire, and one to his niece after her father's death. Also included is a copy of an advertisement for a two-volume work by John Castell-Evans entitled Physico-Chemical Tables (1902-11).
