Rules, 1917-1940; records relating to meetings, 1920-1948; financial records and returns, 1916-1968; and papers of the District Secretary, 1912-1973. All the records relate to the Independent side of the District's functions apart from GA15 which relates to the State insurance side.

Agendas,

Printed agendas of the annual and half yearly meetings of the Gwalia District. The meetings were held at Aberystwyth, Machynlleth and Dolgellau. There are two copies of the agenda for the meeting held on 21 June 1930, one of which has been annotated by the District Secretary.

Annual reports,

Printed reports of the half yearly meeting held in July 1921 and of the annual meeting held in Jan. 1930. The reports incluce names of officers and delegates, motions discussed and accounts of various Funds. The annual report also includes an account of monies received from the Lodges listed by Funds, and the membership of each Lodge.

Minute books,

Minute books, originally called Resolution books, contain minutes of annual, half yearly and district management committee meetings. The minutes include the names of the officers and delegates of lodges present; resolutions discussed relating to auditors' reports, quinquennial valuations and recommendations of the Board of Directors of the M.U.F.S.; the administration of individual Lodges, including disciplinary proceedings for non-compliance with the Order's Rules; late returns of financial statements and accounts; not forwarding records for examination within the prescribed time; financial problems, including Fund deficiencies and varying of rates and levies of Lodges; accounts of payments authorised by the District to Lodges; authorisation for payments by the District Treasurer; appointment of delegates to the Annual Moveable Conference; and appeals from individual members against decisions made by their Lodges.

Cash books,

Cash books containing details of monies received by the District from the Unity and from payments to Funds and of levies by the lodges, and of expenditure, mainly administrative and funeral claims.

Receipts and expenditure books,

Receipt and expenditure books containing details of cash received from lodges and of payments to lodges or to head office. The details are arranged under the different types of Funds, sick and funeral, management, distress, Unity reserve, Orphan Gift, Unity Pension, etc., apart from the first section in GA6/1 which lists contributions and levies received according to individual lodges from 1927 to 1930.
