Lord Davies: Secretaries' Correspondence,

Letters, 1934-1940, sent out on behalf of David Davies by his various secretraies, on a wide range of subjects, many on political themes and international relations. Some of the letters concern the role and activities of the New Commonwealth Society.

General letters, 1940, to Lord Davies, many relating to the conduct of the allied war effort. Many are from politicians and public servants who are noted individually at file level. Files A7/4-A7/5 comprise copies of letters sent out by Lord Davies during the same year, many concerning the war effort.

General letters, 1933-34, to Lord Davies, interspersed with copies of some of his replies. Many of the letters relate to political themes and international affairs. Some concern the New Commonwealth Society, mainly its British Section, and Lord Davies's many publications in the form of volumes and articles. Some of the correspondents sympathise with Lord Davies on his successive bouts of illness during this period. Files A4/9-A4/10 consist of correspondence, 1933-35, between Lord Davies and Rear Admiral Gordon Campbell.

File B2/16 consists of miscellaneous published material, 1920-39, mainly the publications of the Council of the League of Nations Union (Wales). File B2/17 contains miscellaneous correspondence and papers, 1929-44, concerning the administration of the League of Nations Union (Wales).

Some of the documents relate to the work and potential role of the League of Nations itself.
