Will and codicil of Sir John Williams of Blaenllynant, Aberystwyth, formerly of Plas Llanstephan, co. Waddingham v. Richardson & wife,

Original bundle of papers in a case in the court of common pleas between John Waddingham of Guiting Grange, co. Glos., esq., and Thomas William Richardson of Pwllpeiran and Cloise his wife, relating to possession of Pwllpeiran and trespass. The papers, mainly letters, include a copy notice from William Chambers, John Waddingham's predecessor as owner of the Hafod estate, to Mrs Eloin de C. Elinsall to quit Pwllpeiran, Aug. 1871.

Walter Augustus Holcombe and Charles Alexander Holcombe,

Original bundle of papers, Feb. 1874-Nov. 1875, relating to the rent charge in lieu of tithes in p. Llanddarog, co. Carm., let to Walter Augustus Holcombe and Charles Alexander Holcombe, esqs, including a copy summary apportionment of the Llanddarog tithe rent charge, [c.1874]; a notice that Frederick Rowland Roberts of Aberystwyth, solicitor, has replaced Richard Gardner of Carmarthen as receiver, Feb. 1874; letters, Jan. 1874-Nov. 1875; and notices to pay, April 1875. There is also a notice, presumably mis-filed, relating to Mary Jones of Coedllanddufawr's tithe rent charge in p. Llanwenog, co. Card., the property of George Augustus Vaughan, esq., April 1880.

Walton East, Wiston and Spittle, co. Pemb., and Llandeilo Abercowyn, co. Carm., mortgages,

Mortgage of premises in p's Walton East and Wiston, co. Pemb., and drafts of an assignment of two terms of years for better securing £10,000 of a moiety of the manor of Spittle, other premises in p. Spittle, including a water corn mill and tucking mill, and premises in p. Llandeilo Abercowyn, co. Carm.

Wernfach estate,

Family and estate papers of Edward and David Theophilus of Wernfach, being material relating to properties in p. Llanrhystud owned or occupied successively by several interrelated families, notably Evans, Williams and Cruickshank. The properties are Blaenyresgair, Lluest y Conscience (formerly known as Llain y Gwen Sians and Lluest y Gron Sians), Tryal (also spelt Trial, Treal, Trual), Tyn y Clawdd (formerly known as Ty’r Treflick and Twy-yn-y-clawdd), and Wernfach (also known as Wernnewydd). It appears that the properties’ last owners (and Roberts & Evans’s clients) were Edward and David Theophilus of Wernfach, who were also related to the previous owners and/or tenants. Thomas Johnes of Hafod had been the owner (but not the occupier) of some of these lands, and is a party to several of the earlier transactions recorded in these deeds.

Original bundle of deeds relating to a m. and farm named Wernphilip, p. Llanbadarn Fawr, including the marriage settlement of Lewis Williams of Penrhiw yr Hebon, p. Llanbadarn Fawr, gent., and Jane Morris, eldest daughter of Richard Morris of [Kernnoy?], p. Llanfihangel Genau'r-glyn, gent., 1756; and administration of the estate of John Maurice Davies, lieutenant in the 31st Regiment of Foot, bachelor, dec., granted to Jane Davies, widow, his mother, 1798.

Original bundle of deeds relating to the Penywern estate, belonging to Richard Phillipps and later to the Wickham family, comprising a messuage called Cynon Isa, p. Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, a cottage or dairy house Llyastganol yn Cwm Ergir, p. Llanbadarn Fawr, messuages called Erw y maen Llwyd, Pencwm, Ty Llwyd yn y Pentre, Tythin Llyastmaenllwyd, Tythin y Coed, Tythin y Cwm and Tythin y Garn vach, p.
