W[illia]m Anthony, Llandilo,

Forwarding a copy of a letter dated 18 Dec. 1798 to writer from Evan Davies, Cardigan, acknowledging receipt of the notice in the demise of Jenkin v. David appointing 2 Jan. 1799 to meet at Lampeter on the reference.

W[illia]m Bonville, Carm[arthe]n,

'They' set forth their situation in a pitiful manner, and if they will bring recipient sufficient security to discharge their rents in a little time hence, writer will write to Mrs Jones; with kind respects to recipient and Mrs Jones. [This letter is preceeded by a short note from the same writer to Howell Morgan concerning security for the payment of rents].

W[illia]m Bonville, Carm[arthe]n,

Mrs Jones is much displeased at 'his' not paying 'his' rent; Mr David Price of Wern-y-moch should be reminded of his promise to pay his rent, otherwise Mrs Jones's instructions must be put into execution; with kind respects to recipient and Mrs Jones.

W[illia]m Bonville, Carm[arthe]n,

Writer had sent recipient a letter to Mr Williams's house when recipient was at the Quarter Sessions respecting the rent due to writer from 'the Gent.'; writer had paid Mr Thomas Jones three guineas, being a quarter of a year's rent on the premises; writer then promised to pay recipient at Christmas; as recipient did not comply with a previous request, writer desires to know whether recipient is authorised to pay the rents due from 'the Gent.', and how soon he may expect the payment thereof with kind respects to recipient and Mrs Jones. P.S. Writer spoke to recipient's father-in-law on their way to church with Mr Charles Jones's corpse on the above subject, and had been told that recipient received and paid all and had paid Mr Lewis of Ynniswen rent due from 'the Gent.'; writer therefore hopes to be paid soon, which recipient may do by desiring his 'father' to pay it.

W[illia]m Bonville, Carm[arthe]n,

Mr Price the apothecary had promised to send his rent down; Mrs Jones has instructed writer to apply to recipient to oblige 'him' to pay. [Endorsed are accounts relating to a principal sum of £60 and interest from 22 Jan. 1789 to 13 Sept. 1793].

Will[iam] Chippindale, London,

Enclosed was a copy of the defendant Jones's answer in Jones v. Horn; as 'he' speaks English very indifferently, writer desires recipient to write a history of all the [?transactio]ns between him and Evans and Horn. P.S. Everything depends on whether Mr Jones received the money from Evans on a specific account or on the general. Damaged.

William David, Mothvey, to David Lloyd, ESQ., at Perllan Touill,

Recipient is requested to examine Howel Rees, for he knew everyone that owed money to the old woman after her decease; he himself is in debt of £1.0.0. and one brass pan valued at £1.1.0. Endorsed: 'Howell Rees of the p[ar]ish of Lanthoysant. £5 From Griffith Tho[ma]s John's wife of the p[ari]sh of Lanthoisant. £9 From Morgan Evan of Gellyvelin on the p[ari]sh of Mothvey. Jannet Griffith w[id]o[w]'.
