The file comprises copies of letters to Sir Godfrey Ince regarding the fallout from the Petroleum Committee meeting in Caracas and notes prepared by Sir Guildhaume Myrddin-Evans and other outlining the concerns expressed by the Venezuelan government and those of it's trade union critics.

The series comprises correspondence and documents relating to the Petroleum Committee held in Carracas, Venezuela in 1955. A workers' representative from the Netherlands, Mr Vermeulen made a speech at the opening session criticising the Venezeuan government's record of trade union rights and was subsequently deported from the country, causing the remaining workers' representatives to walk out and the suspension of the session.
