Biographical history

Herbert Stanley Jevons (1875-1955) was Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire, Cardiff, Glamorgan. His father was the mathematician William Stanley Jevons (1835-1882). Herbert Stanley Jevons was the first Secretary of the Abyssinian Association and the first treasurer of the Anglo-Ethiopian Society. He corresponded extensively with John Maynard Keynes. His publications include Material for Economic Equality in the Cooperative Commonwealth (1933).

Donated by Mrs Rosamond Könekamp, Newport, Pembrokeshire, daughter of Herbert Stanley Jevons, 1962, 1965, and by Emeritus Professor R. D. Collinson Black, Belfast, 1977.
