A volume (212 pp., several of which are blank) originally intended for use as a ledger, written in several hands and containing accounts, 1766-8 (webs, rye, butter, barley, etc. [?Dolgellau district, with references to Penllyn and Trawsfynydd]); a few medical recipes; stanzas of verse beginning 'Gwrando' nghariad ar fy nghwynion ...' (incomplete); the first twelve stanzas of a poem written by John Williams, St Athan, after the expulsion of Peter Williams, 1791 (cf. the printed version, 1793, of 'Can diddarfod'); a weaver's patterns; a copy of part of a herbal, Aneth - Pren Bocs (cf. Llysieulyfr Meddyginiaethol a briodolir i William Salesbury, ed. E. Stanton Roberts (Liverpool: Hugh Evans & Sons. 1916), p. 249; accounts, 1829-30, headed 'Account of the Factory's work from the 12 of Novr. 1829'; part of a treatise in Welsh on physiognomy (?possibly a translation as it contains quotations in English verse); and verses by Cadwalader Thomas and 'englynion' by Evan Elis 'I Factory Cefnddwysarn a adeiladwyd yn un cyntaf yn mhenllyn'. At the reverse end are notes in Welsh on the theory of music and a draft (in pencil) of the will of John Cadwalader of Tyllwyd in the parish of Llan D...., Merioneth, 1823, etc. Among loose papers are two bills (one mutilated), 1830, to Ebenezer Williams, Cefnddwysarn for spinning, etc.

A herbal entitled 'Llys-lyfran 1805', compiled by Richd. Roberts, Melin y Coed, for his son David Roberts 'when he was Aprentice Doctor at the Dispensary or Frirmary [sic] Denbigh'. The author in most instances includes the Welsh equivalent forms of plant names (although in his introductory letter he deplores the lack of standard forms - 'am nad oedd un Llyfr fel Ystandart iw gael am yr Enwau Cymraeg'), and he occasionally records the places in North Wales where the plants have been observed (e.g ., by the sheep fold above Llandudno, Gwaen Tyn Twll, Y Tybrith isa Llanrwst, 'Castell Dymbych', 'tu hwnt i lyn Chwythlyn', 'Abby Conway', Rhyddlan, Llandrillo, 'ty yma i sarn Bettws', etc.). There are references in the text to 'D.P.', i.e., David Pierce, Esqre., Vron, near Llanrwst, ‘'one of the First Botanists in Wales', and among the printed sources quoted by the author are the works of N[icholas] Culpepper [sic], [William] Withering, and T[homas] Wheeler. There are some additions and annotations by David Roberts to the year 1812, and later interpolations include the names of David Owen, nailer, Llanrwst, and of Mary Owen, 1838. The volume contains an 'Index of the Generic names'.

An early eighteenth century miscellany, with later additions, containing recipes in English; a herbal in Welsh, with 'englynion' in praise of herbs by William Cynwall, Huw llun, Rhys Iorwerth fynglwyd, Gryffith ap Efan, Dr. Richard Dafis ('Esgob Dewi'), Sion ap Sion, Sion Tudur, Howel borthor ('o'r Trallwng yn mhowys'), Thomas Efans (1619), etc; 'Brenin yn yr hên amser a ddyfeisiodd i ddeuddeg oi wyr ddoydyd 12 gair gwir dan eu perigl'; 'gofyn a wnaeth y saith wyr doethion iw gilidd. Pa ryw ddaioni ore ar ddyn ...'; 'y pethau a berthyn ar wr'; Welsh proverbs; 'Dysg i adnabod y lleuad newydd', 'I gael y Pasc tros byth', 'I gael difieu cablyd', 'I gael y Pasc byth', 'I gael newid y lleuad', and 'I wybod oed y lleuad', 'Tair Sir ar ddeg o gymru au Trefydd au dinasoedd au Cymydau, au heglwysydd' ('Diwedd Ebrill 10. 1722'); 'Trioedd mab y Crinwas'; 'Triodd [sic] yr usuriwr'; the story of 'Adar Llwch Gwin'; 'y Pedair Camp ar hugain', etc. The leather cover is blind tooled 'Ex Dono Edvardi Humphrey Anno Domni 1661', but there is no evidence to show whether or not this inscription refers to the present volume.
