Miscellaneous account books and loose accounts of the Gogerddan estate, 1753-1920. They include the stated accounts of the Gogerddan agents, John Pierce, 1789-1799, and William Williams, 1851-1852, two volumes of summarised accounts, 1868-1880, statements of accounts, 1919-1920, and various working and rough accounts. Generally the contents concern routine estate income and expenditure, such as rents and duties, employees’ wages, building work, groceries and household commodities, fabrics and haberdashery, property sales and purchases, legal costs, carriage of goods, livestock sales and purchases, particularly of sheep, and some mining accounts for Esgair Hir and Grogwynion. The series includes an early rent receipt book, 1753-1767; the account book of David Morgan and James Morice, 1761-1829; the account book of Richard Claridge, 1800-1813, and subsequent accounts and letters concerning Gloucester Hall and Frondeg, 1857-1858; and the timber and building accounts of John Morgan, 1830-1850.
