History
The Board first met in September 1980. The duties of the Board included the following: to initiate and co-ordinate Welsh Medium Teaching within the University and to promote The University's scheme for the teaching of Welsh to adults; to supervise, review and co-ordinate Welsh Medium Teaching and to report thereon to the Central Services Committee, the Court and the Council; to identify and supervise the needs of Welsh Medium Teaching; and to take such steps for advancing the efficiency of Welsh Medium Teaching. It was also empowered to establish an executive committee for dealing with Welsh Medium Teaching in the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, the University of Wales, Bangor, and Trinity College, Carmarthen.
