Pugh, belonging to Samuel Roberts of Scott County, Tennessee, containing brief entries for January 1861-July 1863, in English and Welsh, including names of correspondents, writing and farm work and the weather. From April 1861 there are frequent references to the effects of the Civil War locally and nationally, and the difficulties and tribulations suffered by him and his family as a result (ff. 9-57 passim).
