Bramston family deeds

An original bundle of deeds, most with a connection with the Bramston family and relating to the manor of Stepney, with notes, 1928. The deeds comprise a conveyance by Percival Bowes of Lincolns Inn and John Moyser of Aske in Yorkshire, gents, to John Hutton of Dalton super Test in Yorkshire, yeoman, of property in East Cowton, formerly a possession of the dissolved priory of the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem in England, 1569, a precept in the manor of Stepney relating to the property of Henry Smert and Lawrence Swynborne, gents, whose wives Barbara and Elizabeth were the daughters and co-heirs of Christopher Campion, deceased, 1580, the bond of Thomas Golding, gent., to Roger Bramston, gent., on the surrender of 3 a. of customary land in the manor of Stepney, 1582, an agreement between Henry, lord Wentworth, lord of the manor of Stepney, and Roger Bramston, respecting Bramston's copyhold lands in Stepney and Whitechapel, 1585, a copy of court roll of the manor of Stepney recording the lease from John and Bridget Bramston to William Chappell of 7 a. of customary land in Whitechapel and 8 a. in Stepney, 1610, the admission of John Bramston son of Roger Bramston to customary tenements in the manor of Stepney, 1615, a grant by John Stepkyn to John Boorne, citizen and barber-surgeon of London, of a parcel of pasture (3 a.) in London Fields, Stepney, 1616, the enfranchisement by Thomas, lord Wentworth, lord of the manor of Stepney, Thomas Moundeford of London, doctor in physic, and others of lands in the manor of Stepney, 1616, and the bond of Thomas Egleston, weaver, and Mary Egleston of Stepney, 1694.
