Biographical history
Copies of letters sent out by the English Language Section of the Academi were kept together from not long after it started to employ professional staff. Pamela Parry Jones was the first part time secretary and following her, in November 1975, Sue Harries was appointed as a part time secretary for the English Language Section of the Academi; the other half of her time was spent working as Literature Officer for the Welsh Arts Council. In July 1978, she was given the full time post of secretary of the English Language Section. The fact that she shared her time between the Arts Council and the Academi for the first three years is reflected in the earlier copy letters sent out. Following Sue Harries's departure in 1983, the role was developed and Ceri George was appointed administrator of the Section. She was followed by Kevin Thomas who was employed as administartor in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
