Scope and content

Series of bound volumes of circulars sent out by the secretaries to members of the Monmouthshire and South Wales Coal Owners Association, 1891-1955. The circulars are mainly of a routine nature, comprising notices of meetings of the various committees of the Association, Revision of Assurance notices and forms, results of Sliding Scale audits and subscription reminders. Some circulars were sent to members for specific purposes, e.g. to elicit information to be used in Sliding Scale Agreement negotiations, to elicit support for the Talygarn Convalescent Home, etc. The last 12 volumes in the series (P1/39-52) contain circulars sent by the secretaries to members of the Commercial Committee, 1919-1947.
