Biographical history
The Joint Committee was set up by the Court in December 1951 to consider to what extent a revision of the charters and statutes of the University was desirable. It consisted of representatives of the University Court, Council, Academic Board, together with the Guild of Graduates. The Joint Committee met between May 1952 and November 1954. Its report was presented to the Court meeting held on 14-15 December 1954.
