Davies described as containing 'Barddoniaeth amryw ond yn benaf David Charles ieuaf Caerfyrddin yr hwn a anwyd 1802 [sic] ac a fu farw 1880' transcribed from printed sources, e.g. Addysgydd 1823. Loose at the beginning is a letter, 1896, from David. R. Charles, Hoylake to J. H. Davies enclosing a transcript of a Welsh translation by D[avid] C[harles], the writer's father, 1853, of the hymn 'Abide with me' ('Trig gyda mi, f'Arglwydd mae n hwyrhau').
