Documents mainly concerned with mortgages on the Wynnstay estates, 1845-1859, to fulfil the trusts in the will of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn (d. 1840) together with some earlier family deeds, 1770-1843. The file includes evidence of recoveries of the Wynnstay estates in 1770 and the manor of Pennant-lliw, Merioneth, in 1817; a release by Victoria Kynaston (widow of Edward Kynaston), Sir Watkin Williams Wynn and others to trustees, of estates comprised in the will of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn (d. 1749), 1772; a release by Lady Frances Williams Wynn of a legacy and annuity left by the will of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn dec., 1775; an abstract of title to the [?]Crwyni estate in the parish of Llanfor (Gwyddelwern deleted) Merioneth, 1827; the marriage settlement of Hugh Williams and Henrietta Charlotte Williams Wynn, 1843; an assignment of bond debts owing by the late Sir Watkin Williams Wynn as part security for a loan, 1845; a copy assignment by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn and the trustees to James Tulloch, John Loch, John Martin and Sir Walter Rockliff Farquhar of estates in Salop, Montgomeryshire, Flintshire, Merioneth and Denbighshire for the residue of a term of 300 years for securing £77,000 and further advances, 1845, followed by a declaration of further advance, 1846, and another mortgage, 1848; a list of farms in Montgomeryshire secured by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn in exchange with his trustees, 1846; a release and reconveyance by Edwin Lascelles and others of hereditaments in the parish of Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr, Denbighshire, discharged from a mortgage for £15,000, but to be substituted by other hereditaments, 1857; and a release and reconveyances by James Tulloch and the other mortgagees, James Morris, Hart Dyke and others to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn and the trustees of the will of Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, on discharge of the mortgage debts of £77,000 and £4540, 1859.
