A volume of cywyddau and awdlau and other Welsh poems, addressed mainly to members of the Vaughan families of Hergest and Tretower.

A volume containing a 19th century transcript of Welsh poetry by one of Sir Thomas Phillipps's secretaries, together with a transcribed pedigree (p. 108) of Elizabeth I.

A commonplace book of Lewis Morris containing note and extracts relating mainly to natural history, mineralogy, physics, and applied mechanics, together with recipies and poems.

A volume containing notes of a very miscellaneous nature in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') except for a few pages in the hand of Taliesin Williams, his son. Included, pagination in brackets, are a brief note relating to the 'short and simple and thence natural account of the Welsh Saints' and a reference to the possibility of the existence of documents relating to 'British Ecclesiastic history' at the Vatican (1); notes headed 'Llyma Enwau Swrn o Wyr Enwogion o Genedl y Cymry . . .' being notes on figures of Welsh mythology presumably extracted (see note on p. 5) from Welsh School Collection MS No. 43 ( listed as missing when the Welsh School Collection was presented to the British Museum in 1844, see B.M. A volume containing Welsh poetry by various poets, etc.

Welsh poetry relating for the most part to the families of Nannau and Cors y Gedol, together with a history of the Gwydir family, etc. Pages 1-184 and 197-213 were transcribed, [c. 1690], by 'John Davies, commonly called John David Laes, a family poet at Nannau' (pp. iii, 497); pp. 217-232 and 289-295 are in the autograph of the Rev. William Wynn (p. 295); and pp. i-vii, 497-498 are in the hand of Lewis Morris of Anglesey. The remainder of the manuscript seems to belong to the first quarter of the eighteenth century.

A fragment of a volume described as 'Llyfr Kowyddav y Masdr [Hwmffre] Huws or deirnion siryf veirionydd ...', containing autograph 'cywyddau', some of them eulogising him, by Thomas Penllyn, Rhisiart Phylip, Tuder Owen, Sion Cain, and Huw Machno (some of them being dated 1619), together with other 'cywyddau' by Sion Cent, etc.

A miscellany containing a metrical dissertation on Psalm 8, verses 3 and 4, followed by a poem dealing with the seven planets; 'Darlleniad diwiol'; 'Carol i Fair', beginning 'Yngwledydd Judea yr oedd Zackaria'; a part of a carol by Mathe[w] Owen; a 'cywydd', a 'dyri', and a carol by Huw Morus; a 'dyri' by Edwart Rolant ('o'r bala'); 'Erapater dros byth a gaed o lyfr Thomas Jones ... 1701'; farm notes for 1702; etc. -- Much of the volume is in the hand of Richard Roberts, whose name, with the date 'Mai 21, 1699', appears on one folio. At the end of the manuscript is the note: - 'Llyfr y coch o Hergist yn y glasgoed y mae ef'.

A fragment of four pages, numbered 171-4, containing poems by Thomas Edward, 1724, 'Tri phenill' by Catherine Rober[t]s, 'Carol y Gwilie' by 'Mr Edd. Wynne ficar ... Gwyddelwern', 1725, and 'Galarnad am y parchedig Evan Jones o Ben[craig]...' by Ellis Cadwalader.

Miscellaneous poems, including a 'pryddest' on 'Saccheus ar ben y Sycamorwydden' written for an eisteddfod at Tredegar, 1870; a 'Carol Plygain' and a 'Carol Pasg'; various poems - some of them in the autograph of 'Nefydd' - by 'Giraldus' (Haverfordwest), William Rees ('Gwilym Hiraethog'), Robert Williams ('Robert ap Gwilym Ddu'), 'Gwyliedydd Gwent', William Jones ('Gwilym Ilid'), John Blackwell ('Alun'), etc.; 'Trioedd yr Offeiriad'; and hymns by J. M. Thomas.

A composite volume in the hand of the Rev. Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing Welsh and English poetry (pp. 1-102, 127-207, 215-393, 497-507, 549-664), by Ieuan Fardd himself, Edward Richard, Tudur Aled and Edmwnd Prys and others, as well as extracts from Pope's Messiah (including a Welsh translation) (pp. 33, 47) and a translation from the work of Milton (pp. 215-242). One poem (pp. 153-173) is dedicated to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn. There are also extracts from Virgil's Fourth Eclogue, with Beattie's translation into English (pp. 13-28), from Dryden's translation of Virgil (109: The Song of Simeon) (pp. 103-114), from Lord Lyttelton's history of Henry II (1767) (pp. 115-125), and from 'Llyfr Plas y Ward' ('Ystori Gr: ap Cynan') (pp. 397-428); copies of letters from Dr Tancred Robinson to Robert Davies, Llannerch, and between Robert Davies and William Lloyd, bishop of St Asaph (pp. 429-451); 'A letter on British History' relating to Geoffrey of Monmouth, Humphrey Llwyd and others (pp. 461-492); a copy of a translation, 1629, by the Rev.
