A fragment of a volume described as 'Llyfr Kowyddav y Masdr [Hwmffre] Huws or deirnion siryf veirionydd ...', containing autograph 'cywyddau', some of them eulogising him, by Thomas Penllyn, Rhisiart Phylip, Tuder Owen, Sion Cain, and Huw Machno (some of them being dated 1619), together with other 'cywyddau' by Sion Cent, etc.

Transcripts of letters from John Morgan (Matchin), Lewis Morris, and William Wynn, with notes by Walter Davies; a transcript of Account of MSS. in Wales, written by the learned and ingenious Lewis Morris, as it is supposed about the year 1745 (cf. Panton MS. 29, i.e., N.L.W. MS. 1998); transcripts, by Walter Davies, of Welsh poems allan o Lvyr Med Davis o Vron Wion ym Meirion-a sgrivwyd 1738; etc.

They include transcripts of Welsh poetry, pedigrees, grammars, and manuscripts belonging to Robert Vaughan of Hengwrt, Lewis Morris, Gwallter Mechain, Ieuan Brydydd Hir, Thomas Glyn Cothi, Richard Morris and others; literary papers of Iolo Morganwg, including hymns and psalm-tunes, English and Welsh poetry and Bardic papers; other papers including diaries, memorandum books and notebooks; and accounts of his father, Edward Williams, senior.

Welsh poetry relating for the most part to the families of Nannau and Cors y Gedol, together with a history of the Gwydir family, etc. Pages 1-184 and 197-213 were transcribed, [c. 1690], by 'John Davies, commonly called John David Laes, a family poet at Nannau' (pp. iii, 497); pp. 217-232 and 289-295 are in the autograph of the Rev. William Wynn (p. 295); and pp. i-vii, 497-498 are in the hand of Lewis Morris of Anglesey. The remainder of the manuscript seems to belong to the first quarter of the eighteenth century.

The manuscript additions include a prayer in Welsh (Llyfr Gweddi Gyffredin B8v), verse in Welsh by Ellizabeth Price 'i dyrfa Llandanwg'(ibid 06), englynion by 'H.M.' [Huw Morus] and 'H.E.R.' (ibid Aa1v), a riddle in Latin (ibid Gg7), and entries relating to the births and baptisms of the children of Richard Poole of Tyddin y Felin, Llanfair-iuxta-Harlech, co. Merioneth (f. ii, ibid Mm2v, Llyfr y Psalmau A1v), and of Richard Vaughan, esq., of Corsygedol (f. iv verso).

The English poetry consists of verses and fragments from the works of various poets, mostly of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, including Sir Charles Sedley (f. 22 verso), George Gascoigne (ff. 20 verso-21), Samuel Daniel (ff. 19 verso-20), Henry Willoughby (ff. 19 recto-verso) and Michael Drayton (f. 18 verso).

Poems on various subjects, many of them submitted to various competitive meetings at Talybont, near Aberystwyth, and elsewhere, and some of them written by Edward Evans; a letter and a postcard, 1918-1919, from John Thomas ('Eifionydd') to Edward Evans.

A commonplace book of Lewis Morris containing note and extracts relating mainly to natural history, mineralogy, physics, and applied mechanics, together with recipies and poems.

Miscellaneous poetry.

The original manuscript of 'Casgliad o Hen Faledi a Cherddi ... Beddgelert' which won the prize for Carneddog at the national eisteddfod held at Pwllheli, 1925. The collection consists of three hundred and four poems by various writers living in Wales, the United States of America, and Australia, most of whom were in some way or other connected with Beddgelert and neighbourhood. There is a list of the writers, who range in date from the eighteenth to the twentieth century.
