H. Davies (ed.): The Letters of Goronwy Owen (1723-1769) (Cardiff 1924), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris ... 1728-1765, vols I-II (Aberystwyth, 1907-09), etc.); lists of 'Modern Welsh Authors, [fl. 1590-1770] and '... A volume written almost entirely in the autograph of John Roberts ('Siôn Lleyn'; 1749-1817) containing poetry largely of his own composition, with some items by other poets. The volume is in two sections and there is a list of contents at the beginning covering pp. 1-145 in the first section. The wording on the title-page is 'Trysorfa yr Awen sef Casgliad o Ganiadau, Sion Lleyn, 1787,' but some of the items are of later date. The other poets represented are David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu o'r Eryri'), Robert Prich[ar]d (Robert Prichiard Sion,'Robin'r Aber'), T[h]om[a]s Edward[s] Nant, D. One 'cywydd' in the volume (p. 118 in the first section) is headed 'Annerch Ieuan Bryncroes i Sion Lleyn wedi dyfod i ymweled a mi i Chappel Rhyd-y-Clafrdy pryd yr oeddwn yno yn cadw ysgol y fln 1791 y mis Medi' . The volume contains some notes in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), press cuttings and also a copy (printed) of Marwnad, neu Goffadwriaeth y Brawd Robert Roberts, o Sir Gaernarfon : yr hwn a ymadawodd â'r Byd hwn Tachwedd 28, 1802. Yn llawn 40 mlwydd Oed : wedi bod yn pregethu'r Efengyl 15 mlynedd. 8 pp. (Caernarfon : Argraphwyd gan T. Roberts, n.d.) by S. Lleyn. On p. 4 in the second section are 'Trioedd y Crinwas neu'r Cybydd'.

Two tune books now bound as one volume, the first (ff. 1-16) probably compiled in the late eighteenth century and the second (ff. 18-42) by 1800, containing hymn-tunes and psalm-tunes, together with a few englynion and other verse in Welsh (ff. 18 verso-20), and various memoranda.

A volume of Welsh poetry, 'cywyddau' and 'cerddi', given by [Thomas Edwards], 'Twm o'r Nant', to [William Owen-Pughe], 'Idrison', in 1809. Pages 1-172 are in the hand of 'Twm o'r Nant', and pages 102-110 are bicolumnar. Most of the items contained in the manuscript are the work of 'Twm o'r Nant' and are unpublished for the most part. Other poets represented in the volume are: John Thomas o bentre'r Foelas, Jonathan Hughes, Sion Prichard y gof o Dreffynon: alias Sion y Gôf ffyrnig, Gutun Gwrexham [=Edward Charles], Hywel Wehydd [= 'Hywel Eryri', Hugh Evans], John Roberts of 'plwy Lygen', and Rog[er] Edw[ar]ds. Other poems are attributed to Gwas Ystiwart Castell Rhodwy, Rhys y geiriau duon, Gelyn y Bleiddiaid, and Cynffon yr Esgob.

A composite volume containing miscellaneous material in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg'). Pp. 37-146 contain an 'interleaved' copy of a Welsh chronicle recording the activities of the Welsh princes, etc., 1101-1055. This appears to be a 'variant' copy of a version of part of the Welsh chronicle known as 'Brut y Tywysogion', and, in a note at the end (p. 146), the work is linked with the name of Caradog of Llancarfan ('Ac yn yr amser yma y darfu i Garadog o Lancarvan (a fernir gan bob gwr dysgedig yn yn (sic) awdur yr hanes honn) orphen Prydieu Tywysogion Cymru o Gadwaladr hyd ei amser ef'). Pp. 149-231 contain a series (interleaved) of one hundred and twenty-six English triads with the superscription 'The Triades of the Island of Britain or the Triades of Historical Tradition and the Knowle[d]ge of Events, Occurrences, persons, and other things that have been remarkable in the Island of Britain, and of accidents that befell the Nation of the Cimmeri in very remote ages . . .'. This is a translation of the series of Welsh triads published in The Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales . . . (London, 1801), vol. II, pp. 57-75, a series which, according to a note at the end (Myvyrian, p. 75), also translated into English at the end of the present series, was compiled by Thomas Jones of Tregaron ['Twm Shon Cati'] in 1601 from the books of Caradog of Llancarfan and Ieuan Brechfa. P. 237 contains a list of the names of twelve series of Welsh triads and an 'englyn' by [Edward Williams] 'Iolo Morganwg', and is followed (pp. 239-86) by several series of Welsh triads including series with the superscriptions 'Trioedd Barddas a elwir Trioedd Ionabwy' (see John Williams: Barddas . . ., vol. I, pp. 376-9), 'Trioedd amrafaelion', 'Trioedd Bonedd', 'Trioedd Beirdd', 'Trioedd Cyfarwyddyd', 'Llyma Drioedd Cerdd Gruffudd ab Cynan, Trioedd Llawdden Fardd medd llyfrau eraill', 'Llyma Drioedd eraill a gofyn ar Fardd eu gwybod . . .', and 'Llyma Drioedd Cerdd a elwir Trioedd Llogell Rhison (sef Trioedd Marchwiail) a ddangoswyd ger bronn yr Eisteddfod fawr a fu yng Nghaerwys yn 1567 gan Feirdd Gwynedd . . .'. Also included in the volume are p. 13, a genealogy, in direct male line, of Iestyn ab Gwrgan [lord of Glamorgan, fl. 1081--1093], and p. 14, a brief chronicle of events in South Wales during the years 1001, 1085, 1161, and 1184.

Part I is based on 'Llyfr Brith Corsygedol' (Peniarth MS 198) and Part II on a manuscript probably in the hand of John Jones, Gellilyfdy. There are imperfect lists of contents at the beginning of each part. Bound in at the end of the volume, also in the hand of Owen Williams, are 'englynion' ('I'r Iesu', etc.) transcribed in 1853 from a manuscript (1655) of William Salesbury of Bachymbyd; two versions of an address on 'Helynt y Cymry, eu hiaith a'u defodau, etc.' delivered at Eisteddfod Tywyn, Tre Fadog, and prepared for publication in the Carnarvon Herald; and a biography of Richard Jones ('Gwyndaf Eryri'; 1785-1848). The volume is lettered on the spine in gold: 'Owain Gwyrfai MS'.
