History

The Welsh Tourist and Holidays Board (Wales and Mon) Ltd was established in 1948 as an industry body to promote the interests of its member organisations. It was later re-named The Wales Tourist and Holidays Association and then the Wales Tourist Board Ltd (Bwrdd Croeso i Gymru). The Development of Tourism Act 1969 led to the creation of the Wales Tourist Board as a government body, and the independent organisation was dissolved in 1970.
