A composite volume in three parts, dated to the late-fifteenth century (pp. 1-32), 1650 (pp. 33-48) and the eighteenth century (pp. 49-102), containing astrological material (pp. 2, 15-16, 95-98, 26-32); names of plants in Latin and Welsh (p. 3); charms (pp. 4-6); the Paternoster, with every sentence explained (p. 7b); theological tracts (pp. 10-14); a commentary on the Prophecies, dated 5 May 1650 (pp. 33-48); fragments of Bruts (pp. 49-64, 71-74, 83-94); a list of the hundreds and commotes of Wales (pp. 99-100) and of the parishes of Carmarthenshire (pp. 101-102); etc.
On p. 6 is the note 'Gruff: llwyd ap Madoc Dd. a wnaeth y llyvyr hwnn i T. ap howel'.

Boundaries within Wales, &c.,

'Gossodedigaetheu a Messureu y Deyrnas, Cantrevi a Chymydeu Kymry', being a list of hundreds, commotes and other geographical divisions within Wales. At the end of every division is a list of its castles.
The list of 'Cantreds and Commotes of Wales' (p. 5) agrees practically with the one in Peniarth MS 163.

A 'Copy of the Dedication of, and Preface to Sir Thomas Wiliems's Latin-British Dictionary', together with notes on the life and work of Dr John Davies, Mallwyd, and ballads, which include the works of Rowland Fychan of Caer-gai, Lewis Morris and Richard Abraham, written c. 1738 (see p. 2). Also including englynion to Robert Vaughan, Caer-gai by Dr John Davies; a translation by Dr Davies of Thomas Wiliems's dedication of his Dictionary to Sir Richard Wynne, Gwydir; and notes concerning Thomas Wiliems's Dictionary at Hengwrt, with a copy of its Preface (see Peniarth MS 228).

Medical recipes similar to those of 'Meddygon Myddfai', written 1693 (see p. 73).

Hywel's Laws, &c.

A manuscript in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing transcripts of the Laws of Hywel Dda from an unidentified manuscript (ff. 1-9) and from the White Book of Hergest (ff. 63-67); a transcript of a commonplace book, temp. James I, the contents of antiquarian interest, being mostly concerned with Druidism and early British history (ff. 25-49); a list of the contents of the White Book of Hergest (f. 68) and transcripts of parts of it (ff. 69-74); a list of the hundreds, commotes and parishes of Wales (ff. 87-110); and various other extracts, etc.

Y Llyfr Gwyn o Hergest

Transcripts of parts of the White Book of Hergest in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), containing a list of the hundreds and commotes of Wales (ff. 1-5); the Paternoster (ff. 14 verso-20), the Credo (ff. 21-24); Emyn Curic Sant (ff. 25-26); an explanation of the Trinity (ff. 27-28) and of the beginning of the fourth gospel (ff. 29 verso-32); Elucidarium (ff. 33-144); and a summary chiefly of Biblical history (ff. 145-200 verso).

Yspryt Gwidw a'r Saith Pechawd,

A transcript of the texts of 'Yspryt Gwidw', 'Y Saith Pechawd Marwawl', 'Saith Rinwedd yr Eglwys', and 'Saith Weithret y Drugaredd'; and a transcript, by W. J. Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd'), of the list of Welsh commotes written by Perys Mostyn in Cwrt Mawr MS 2.
