Administrative history
The Vale of Glamorgan Railway was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1889, and a subsequent Barry Railway act of 1893 saw the Vale of Glamorgan become effectively a subsidiary of the Barry Railway until the grouping in 1922 when it became part of The Great Western Railway.
