History

The Young Writers' Competition was a national Welsh writing competition for young people organised by the Welsh Academy. The competition was held annually and prizes were awarded for the best short stories and poems in three different age groups. From 1988 until 1992, the competition was sponsored by Stately Windows Limited. The success of the 1988 and 1991 competitions resulted in two anthologies of the best entries being published.
