Biographical history
Derrick Greenslade Childs was born in 1918 and went to the University College of South Wales and Monmouth. He became the Warden of Llandaff House, Penarth, in 1951, then later became the Principal of Trinity College, Carmarthen, before becoming Bishop of Monmouth in 1971. He was made Archbishop of Wales in 1983 and retired from the office in 1986. He died suddenly in an accident in 1987.
