Note
The note by Gwilym Cowlyd on the fly-leaf states: 'this book had been in the hands of the Rev. W. Lewis Walker, Rector of Trefriw, some time or other - probably after the death of Rev. Evan Evans [Ieuan Glan Geirionydd]. The handwriting of the tunes in the beginning of the book appears to be E. Evans's but upon what authority his name is put to the tunes - Cowlyd - Geirionydd, Callington - Lamentation, &c. &c. I have no means of proving. The book itself is undoubtedly of Glan Geirionydd's scribblings'.
