Administrative history
The first recorded function held by the Society was 1st March 1911 when a St. David's Day celebration was held at the Hong Kong Hotel. During the Japanese occupation, the activities continued in the Stanley Civilian Interment Camp. In 1946, after the war, it was established anew and members rose to nearly 200. Membership is open to Hong Kong residence who are Welsh by origin, language or by association with Wales and the Welsh people. The main objective is to maintain and promote the traditions, culture and spirit of the Welsh in the Orient.

Donated by the St David's Society of Hong Kong per the Secretary, Mrs Lesley Davies, Hong Kong, in January 1998.

History of the Society and its constitution; including a photocopied list of Welsh people in the Stanley Internment Camp, 1943, and the Society's officials, 1946-1985; minute books 1957-1992; correspondence including minutes, newsletters and press cuttings relating to the Society's Annual St David's Day Ball, 1969-1989 and miscellaneous papers, 1972-1975, including press cuttings, 1975, relating to Society events and notes, 1978-1979.
