Family settlements of Sir Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, 1653-1663. They comprise pre-nuptial settlements of Sir Richard Pryse and Elizabeth, daughter of Rt. Hon. Bulstrode Whitlocke, with associated documents of disentailment, of the Gogerddan estate and the Pennardd and Caron estate, including particulars of the lands allowed for jointure in Dyffryn Melindwr, Nant yr Arian, Trefeurig and Cwmrheidol, 1653-1657; an agreement by Sir Richard Pryse and James Jones of Dolaucothi, Carmarthenshire, to settle financial matters relating to the township of Pennal, bequeathed by Gwen Pryse to her grand-daughter Mary, now wife of James Jones, 1653; a grant of an annuity to William Whitelock of the Middle Temple, London, issuing from lands of Sir Richard Pryse in the township of Henllys, Cardiganshire, 1655; conveyances between Sir Richard Pryse of Gogerddan and Sir John Wittewronge of Rothampstead, Hertfordshire, of Cynnull Mill and other properties, to secure an annuity to William Washborne, husband of the late Dame Mary Pryse, 1657-1662; an assignment of the reversion of Park Bodvage and Lodge to Sir Richard Pryse, 1657; and a post-nuptial settlement of the Gogerddan mansion and its demesne lands, necessitated by the eviction of Sir Richard Pryse and Dame Elizabeth from some of their lands by eigne (superior) title, 1663.
