Two volumes containing 'Sermons By the Rev. Matthew Henry Copied from the original MSS by Henry James Stedman' between 16 October 1823 and 28 January 1824. The sermons bear the general title 'Reasons for Practical Religion' and correspond to the series described by W. Tong in An account of the life and death of the late Reverend Mr Matthew Henry (London, 1716), pp. 175-6, except that not all sermons are to be found in the transcript (see Vol.I, p. 34n.). The introductory sermon is dated May 10 [16]96 and the series belongs to the period 1696-7.
