Scope and content
A composite notebook bearing on the cover the name of Jeffrey Davies [Tirabad, Brecknockshire], 1822, and 'Llyfr III' and containing outlines of sermons, mainly in English, and a few Welsh hymns, etc. One of the hymns ('O Arglwydd rho dy wyneb cu') appears to be by Jeffrey Davies [the Reverend Jeffrey Davies is referred to in John Hughes, Methodistiaeth Cymru (Gwrecsam, 1856), III, 335 : he was ordained at Cardigan Association, August, 1830 and ordained deacon by the bishop of Llandaff, 7 April 1839. At the time of his death in 1844 he appears to have been curate of Cadoxton, Glamorgan (see D. Rhys Phillips, The History of the Vale of Neath, (Swansea, 1925), p. 83].
