A schedule of deeds and papers in the Tredegar evidence room in Sept. 1783, comprising conveyances in Basaleg, Bedwas, Bedwellty, Betws, Coedcernyw, Henllys, Llanfihangel-y-fedw, Machen, Malpas, Marshfield, Mynyddislwyn, Newport, Peterstone, Risca, St Brides, St Mellons and St Woolloos, wills, probates and administrations, mortages, bonds and leases, surrenders, Tredegar conveyances, fines and recoveries, conveyances in trust, conveyances of an estate in Newport and St Woolloos bought of Watkin Thomas and Alexander Seys, conveyances of several lordships bought of Lord Windsor and Philip, earl of Pembroke, writings relating to an estate in trust settled on the school and poor of Basaleg, loose papers and memoranda, purchase deeds of the lordship of Magor, Brecon papers, conveyances in Basaleg and manor of Sutton, expired Breconshire leases, lands in St Davids purchased of Henry Lewis, Penderyn and Y Faenor writings, Breconshire papers, Ystradfellte papers, writings of an estate in Monmouthshire and Glamorgan purchased by William Morgan, esq., of Richard Lewis, esq., with Lady Dayrell's jointure, Bronllys and Llyswen papers, family settlements, writings of an estate in Monmouthshire and Glamorgan bought of Sir Edmund Thomas, Llanfair Cilgedin and Betws Newydd conveyances, mortgages and bonds, and other conveyances, loose bundles and boxes. -- Enclosed at the back of the volume is a plan of the drawers in the Evidence Room in the hand of Henry Brown, a memorandum of the emptying of the old Evidence Room in 1850, the destruction of many papers (crossed out in red), and the return of the remaining papers to the new fireproof Evidence Room in 1852, and lists of deeds relating to the genealogy of the Morgan family, 1639-1843.
