William Probert: Welsh and Breton grammars

Welsh and Breton grammars, mid 19 cent., in the hand of William Probert, in a volume divided into two sections. The Introduction is dated Walmsley, near Bolton, June 11, 1857. In the first section, Probert's own grammar is divided into five parts: 1) Letters 2) Parts of Speech 3) Derivation of Words 4) Syntax 5) Laws of Welsh Poetry. Probert has also added chapters on Pennillion and Pennillion Singing and on the Bardic Alphabet. The second section of the volume consists of a translation by Probert, completed September 2, 1865, of the Celto-Breton Grammar of Le Gonidec, first published in 1807.
