Artist Clive Hicks-Jenkins is known especially for his narrative paintings and his books on art. Along with Peter Wakelin's monograph, a retrospective exhibition comprising some two hundred works from across Hicks-Jenkins's career was held by the National Library of Wales in 2011 to coincide with the latter's sixtieth birthday.
