Biographical history

The Rev. John Thomas Evans, MA, FSA, (1869-1941), was born in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, the second son of Titus and Elizabeth Evans, and was rector of Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, from 1899 to 1935. An antiquarian he published numerous articles on church history, church plate, and on Pembrokeshire and Gloucestershire.

Archival history

The deeds and documents were evidently collected by the donor, reflecting his research interests.

Donated to the National Library of Wales by Rev. J. T. Evans, FSA, MA, Stow-on-the Wold, Gloucestershire, 1931 and 1932.
