Volume containing typescripts intitled 'Copy schedules to settlement of the Tredegar estates dated 1st July 1896. Rider, Heaton & Co., Lincoln's Inn'. The volume contains carbon copies of the schedules to a deed of settlement dated 1 July 1896. The first schedule (pp. 80-419) lists freehold estates and hereditaments (leases dated at lease 1826-95) in the counties of Monmouthshire, Glamorgan, Breconshire, Herefordshire, Kent and Middlesex, and in the city of London. The second schedule (pp. 420-1) lists copyhold hereditaments in the manors of Rogerstone and Aber-carn in the parish of Basaleg, Monmouthshire, and the third schedule (p. 422) lists leasehold hereditaments in the parish of Basaleg, also settled by the indenture. -- The first schedule (index at the front of the volume) comprises properties in the parishes of Basaleg, Bedwas, Bedwellte, Betws, Christchurch, Coedcernyw, Henllys, Llanfaches, Llanfihangel, Llanfihangel-y-fedw, Llangatwg, Llantarman, Machen, Magor, Malpas, Marshfield, Mynyddislwyn, Nash, Peterstone, Redwich, Risca, Roggiet, Rumney, St Brides, St Brides Netherwent, St Mellons, St Woolloos, Shirenewton and Undy in Monmouthshire, Cardiff, Colwinston, Coychurch, Eglwysilan, Gelli-gaer, Llandaf, Llanedern, Llanfihangel-y-fedw, Llanisien, Llanwynno, Llys-faen, Rhydri, Rhyd-y-gwern and Whitchurch in Glamorgan, the Great Pool of Brecknock otherwise Llan-gors Lake otherwise Llyn Syfaddan in the parishes of Cathedine, Llan-gors and Llangasty Tal-y-llyn, the Great Forest of Brecknock (17-18,000a.), the parishes of Bronllys, Cantref, Defynnog, Garthbrengi, Glasbury, Hay, Llan-ddew, Llandyfaelog Fach, Llandyfalle, Llandeilo'r-fân, Llanhamlach, Llanfihangel Nant-brân, Llanfilo, Llansbyddyd, Llys-wen, Llywel, Merthyr Cynog, Penderyn, St David, St John the Evangelist and the chapelry of St Mary, Talach-ddu, Y Faenor, Ystradfellte and Ystradgynlais, and the tithes of St Johns, St Marys and Ystradfellte, all in Breconshire, the parishes of Bridstow, Goodrich, Hentland, Marstow and Peterstow in Herefordshire, the manor of Dartford otherwise Dartford Priory in the parishes of Dartford, Wilmington and Crayford in Kent, the parishes of St Dunstan Stepney and St Mary le bow in Middlesex, and in Carey Lane, Cheapside, Gutter Lane, Milton Street, Paternoster Row, Type Street and Upper Montague Street in the city of London. -- The schedules (other than that for Breconshire) are much annotated, with dated annotations until at least 1925. The volume encloses (p. 420) memoranda of copyhold land of the manor of Rogerstone enfranchised in 1903.
