Administrative history

R. H. Williams Associates was founded by Richard Hugh Williams, Structural Engineer, in October 1977. The practice was later known as R. H. Williams Consultants Ltd., Consulting Structural & Civil Engineers; and R. H. Williams Associates, Consultant Structural Engineers. Initially based in Cardiff, Mr. Williams and his associates undertook projects across the whole of Wales and eventually re-located to offices in Caernarvon in 1992. The practice specialized in the structural design of all forms of buildings, and had experience in all stages of construction, from feasibility studies to site supervision. Projects undertaken by the practice reflect a broad range of structures including hotels, private residences, hospitals, sports facilities, educational buildings, public buildings, offices and commercial developments, religious buildings, factories and warehouses, water towers and water retaining structures.

The practice was awarded the Prince of Wales Committee and Civic Trust Awards in 1986 for the St. Giles Technology Park, Newtown, for the Development Board for Rural Wales.
