'To a departed Spirit' was published in Songs of the Affections (Edinburgh, 1830), pp. 40-42; 'To Bernard Barton's Daughter' appears in The Works of Mrs. Hemans: With a Memoir of Her Life, by Her Sister, 7 vols (Edinburgh, 1839), Ⅵ, 141.
