History
The Special Committee of the University Court on the Welsh language, or the Welsh Language Committee as it was often called, was set up in 1930 in response to the recommendations of the Departmental Committee on Welsh in Education and Life. Its main functions were to suggest such measures to stimulate and co-ordinate the work of educational bodies in Wales in the promotion of the Welsh language in the educational system of Wales.
