Biographical history

Peter Black was elected the Assembly Member for South Wales West in 1999, and was appointed deputy minister for local government in the Labour / Liberal coalition administration, 2000. He was the former Chair of the Liberal Democrats Wales and of the Liberal Democrats Wales' Finance Committee. Peter Black was born in 1960, and was educated at Wirral Grammar School for Boys and the University of Wales Swansea. He is a Councillor on Swansea City and County Council.

Scope and content

The fonds comprises minutes of the Liberal Democrats Wales Executive Committee, the Welsh Campaigns and Communications Committee, and the Finance and Administration Committee, 1988-1998. The papers were accumulated by Peter Black as a member of the Party, former chair of the Welsh Party, c. 1995-1997, and former chair of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Finance and Administration Committee.
