Biographical history

The Committee of Principals was an informal forum of the principals of the constituent colleges of the University to discuss a whole range of issues and problems that affected the University. The Committee did not report - and was therefore not answerable - to any other University body. The Committee was replaced by the Board of Vice-Chancellors which has similar functions but on a much more formal basis.
