Notification by William, Earl of Gloucester to Nicholas, Bishop of Llandaff, his sheriff of Glamorgan, and all his Barons and men, French, English, and Welsh, that he has given to Margam Abbey all the land in the mountains from the lower brow of the hills to the upper brow of the hills at the source of Kenefeg, and from the source of Kenefeg to the source of Frudel, and from the source of Frudel across over the hills to the ford Kewelethi into Avene, and then as the waters descend to the sea. [This is the earliest definition of the boundaries of manor of Margam.].
