A manuscript containing a transcript of Cywydd er Coffadwriaeth o Farwolaeth Thomas Lloyd Yswain o Fronwydd Gorphenaf 13, 1807 by Benjamin Evans, Trewen, with an extract from a letter relating to it sent by Dr D. Rhys Jones, Cardiff to J. Bodvan Anwyl (1875-1949), 9 September 1921.

An elegy to W[illiam] Hughes, [Calvinistic Methodist] minister, Llanengan, co. Caernarvon, and 'chwech Penill a'r Enllibwr', both submitted for competition at a literary meeting at Penycaera[u], 1867.

'Galarnad ar farwolaeth W. O. Pughe, Yswn., D.C.L., F.A.S.', being an elegy (206 lines) on the death of W[illiam] O[wen] Pughe [lexicographer, antiquary, and poet] by 'Ywain Cyfeiliog'. The present copy was folded and sent by post to R. Saunderson, junior, Bala, with the ? author's proper name 'Griffith W. Edwards, G. ab Gwilym Padarn, Llanrug near Carnarv[on]' inscribed under seal in the bottom right-hand corner of p. 4. This suggests that the poem was forwarded to be submitted for competition at an eisteddfod, and the note 'Barnwyd y Farwnad hon yn fuddugol yn Eisteddfod y Bala, 1836. . .' inserted subsequently between the title and text appears to confirm the suggestion.

A copy of Marwnad y diweddar Barch. J. Morris, Cwmifor [near Llandilo, Carmarthenshire] ... gan Watcyn Wyn [i.e. Watkin Hezekiah Williams] (1844-1905), printed at Llandilo in 1877 and described by Sir Daniel Lleufer Thomas (1863-1940) in a manuscript note added to the volume as probably the earliest work of Watcyn Wyn [which is] printed in book form; with the book is a cutting from Y Darian, 7 October 1926, containing an article by David James (Defynnog) (1865-1928) describing the book.

Some photographs are cut into oval shape, others are oblong with trimmed corners. Most are small still life arrangements of flowers. Others show toys, family members, friends and animals. There is no indication on the blank folios or the reverse of the loose photographs that they were ever fixed into the album. Digital version of the album described in greater detail.

A diary, 1930, kept by Mary Grierson whilst at school in Bangor, North Wales, in which she recounts her exploits in the Snowdon area with three school friends, Brenda Chamberlain, the artist, Jean Jones, daughter of E. H. Jones (Registrar of University College of North Wales, Bangor) and Joy Witton-Davies, daughter of Professor T. Witton-Davies, of the University College of North Wales, Bangor. Encolosed is a poem written to 'Blackie' (Mary Grierson) by Jean Jones, 1927. Mary Grierson later became a botanical artist at Kew Gardens.
