Papers, 1947-1985, arising directly from Philip Weekes' work at the National Coal Board, comprising a large number of memoranda and notes, 1962-1985; some general notebooks, 1973-1980; several reports and brochures, 1974-1985; and numerous official minutes with attached annexes, 1977-1983; correspondence and papers, 1947-1983 (3 folders) relating to Philip Weekes's emplyment by the National Coal Board; and his diaries, 1979-1985.

Appraisal, destruction and scheduling

Action: The majority of the papers in the series have been retained apart from a small number of duplicate memoranda, notes and minutes, all of which have been destroyed. Authority for the destruction of these items is given in Appraisal Form MRR/2005-06/3i..

System of arrangement

Arranged into ten files according to record type. Each file is arranged in approximate chronological order. Files 1/1-1/6 were donated in March 2004; files 1/7-1/10 were donated in October 2005. The photocopy of the diary in file 1/10 was donated by Mr Patrick Hannon in December 2007. Desk diary 1/11 was donated by Mr Gareth Weekes in September 2011.
