A Robert Mesham (d. pre-1872) was succeeded by his daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Mesham (alive 1872), her brother the Rev. Arthur Bennett Mesham (alive 1845-1856), rector of Wootton, Kent, and rural dean, being dead. Arthur's son Captain Mesham was the male representative of the family in 1872.
