Biographical history
With the Vice-Chancellor as its chairman the Board served the Court, although, as in the case of examination subject boards, it did not present the Court with a report or minutes of its deliberations. It is possible that this was because of the secrecy that surrounded the Board's discussions.
The Board approved the contents of matriculation examination papers, meeting also after the conclusion of examinations to consider the reports of examiners on the conduct and standard of the examinations; determining the standard of pass for each subject; and presenting lists of successful candidates to the Court for endorsement. The pass lists were then issued under the authority of the Court, and are retained with the Court Minutes. It is not known whether the Board continued to function after 1939.
