Y Traethodydd is a quarterly magazine which was first published in 1845 by Thomas Gee. Although it was intended to be an interdenominational magazine the Methodists were its main supporters. The Rev. D. Francis Roberts (1882-1945) was a member of the editorial board of Y Traethodydd from 1931-1939, and this may be the reason why the manuscripts of Y Traethodydd for the same period became a part of the CM Archives.
