A group of miscellaneous deeds and documents relating principally to the Mackworth family of Gnoll and to the Gnoll estate. They include accounts of the Gnoll estate, 1755 - 1835; accounts of Herbert Mackworth, 1754-5; autograph letters of Robert Lydall, Melincrythan, 1699, Thomas Mackworth, Mormanton, 1706-7, Sir Humphrey Mackworth, 1716, Fr[ances], Duchess of Beaufort, 1740, Lord Plymouth, 1779, Lord Verney, 1784, Lord Newburgh, 1784, Lord Saye and Sele, 1784, Lord Mountstuart, 1784, Digby Mackworth, 1784, Jno. Franklen, Lanmihangle, 1784, Charles Bowen, Merthyr Mawr, 1784, the Rev. Thos Leyson, Bassalleg, 1814, G. Llewellyn, Baglan Hall, Neath, 1861, etc. The majority of these relate to industrial projects, such as silver refining at Melincrythan, 1699, and the Gnoll Copper Co., 1784; a printed copy of the bounds of the manor of Neath Ultra and Killybebill, 1632; a prospectus of the Neath Water Supply Co. [1861]; a deed of partnership to complete the Vale of Neath Railway contract, 1849; deeds, 1587 - 1800, some relating to properties in Cadoxton iuxta Neath, Killybebill, Landaffe, Langevelach, Langonoyd, Lanridian, Neath, and Peterston, co. Glam., and Lanhenock, co. Mon.; a small collection of seals, some of which are identified; Gwobr i Blentyn by Jenkyn Davies.
