Administrative history
The Loyal Temple of Love Lodge of Oddfellows was established at Aberystwyth in 1866 and was registered at The White Hart Inn from at least 1878. Later it was registered at 18 Chalybeate Street and from 1951 at Argyle House, 5 Chalybeate Street. Membership remained steady between the two World Wars ranging from roughly 100 to 130. From the late 1940’s, however, membership declined rapidly from 95 in 1949 to 47 in 1959. The lodge was amalgamated with the Rheidol Lodge in January 1972.
