Administrative history
The Iolo Goch Lodge was established in 1872. It had 242 members in 1918 but only 90 three years later. By 1930 membership had declined to 69; by 1958 it had reached 17 and by 1960 it was down to only eleven. Little wonder then that the lodge was amalgamated with the Rheidol Lodge as and from 1 January 1962. The lodge was originally registered at the house of John Griffiths, tailor, at New Row, Tal-y-bont, and subsequently at a house belonging to one Anne Reed and then at Cambrian House.
